LAKME FASHION WEEK BLUES
Ace Blogger Jatin slaying Mr Button at Fashion Week, Bombay.
Lakme fashion week started with a bang at St Regis Mumbai on 24th August, especially for me. Just two days before the event, I was announced the official blogger for LFW this season. I was super thrilled and excited and was fully charged up to witness the best. Though I will speak about my favorite looks and shows in a different post, here I am just going to talk about what I wore at LFW and what were my favorites.
When I plan my outfits for fashion week, the one thing which I keep in mind is “variety”. There is a certain style statement which I always believe in and make sure to keep that intact while playing with the different elements, be it accessories or prints or patterns. One common element which ruled all my looks was the most basic of all. “Hue”.
Blue is a man’s color they say, but there is much more you can do with it. My love for color blue surely made me look dapper at the event. The whole point was to show how we can play with this one versatile color and make it look different every time. So here they are, my three favorite looks from the Fashion week and how I had fun playing with the Blues.
Attention to detail is one of the key rules when it comes to be a dandy man. An Alpha male is not afraid of playing with prints and textures and believes in bold contrasts. This is the sole reason I pick Mr Button every season for fashion week. Their well tailored suits looks good and fits well. What else a man can ask for. The another key rule of powerful dressing is never to over do it. Be it accessories or prints or different elements. Keeping it edgy yet not cluttering it, is the best way to go. While some believe that a tank top is not made for men, I beg to differ and go with what I look best in. If spending some good amount of time in gym gives me an option of flaunting it, then I won’t think twice. And that’s what I did on day 2 at Fashion week. A basic black tank top with the polka dotted double breasted blazer and white trousers surely makes it look light and airy and is perfect for a day outfit. Some gold brooch with black brogues completes the look.
Styling is the most important tool in every fashion influencer’s life. How you take simple things and style them to take it to another level is what it takes for any individual to stand out. Denim has been in vogue since a long time and it has never gone out of style. Last season while I sported Mr Button’s denim blazer, this time I picked the interesting sleeveless jacket with two closures. Pairing the same old denim on denim with white seems boring, isn’t it? But adding certain artsy elements to it surely lifts the look. The addition of gold chains and self made safety pins brooch did that magic.
